Now with individual show pages for over 2750 shows!
New Additions:
Title-only Listings
In addition to the over 2750 individual show pages listed, we now include listings by title and
author of almost 400 additional plays for which we do not have individual show pages.
Why include title-only shows? Often, an author of several shows may have penned
additional titles that are obscure or for which little or no information
can be found. In those cases, we are now choosing to list the show by author and title
rather than exclude the show from the site altogether. As our production listings
continue to grow, we may choose to provide production history links
when available even if we still cannot find other substantive information on these shows.
Production histories!
We have begun to add production histories to the shows in our database.
When we have completed our production inventory,
we expect to list over 100,000 productions identified online as
performed by theatres in our database!
Listings include links to the theatre websites and an indication of additional
content being present there. Imagine seeing photos, cast lists, and other kinds of details
on shows you are planning to produce or audition for. What did the actors in their
productions look like? How were they costumed? How about their set? Perhaps there
are special props or set pieces required for the show that you could rent or borrow - or simply
expertise you'd like to leverage. Production listings extend back to the 1930s!
